Two more arrested over Trump Turnberry vandalism

Two more people have been arrested over damage caused to Donald Trump’s golf course at Turnberry.

A green was dug up at the Ayrshire course on 8 March and another had the words “Gaza is not for sale” painted on it. Red paint was also daubed over one of the buildings at the resort.

Police Scotland said a 55-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man have been arrested in England.

The woman was detained in Leeds and the man was arrested in Wakefield. Officers said inquiries into the incident were ongoing.

It comes after Kieran Robson, 33, appeared in Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday charged with maliciously damaging the golf course.

Mr Robson, from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, made no plea during the hearing and he was released on bail.

The case was committed for further examination and Mr Robson is set to appear again at a later date.

A 75-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman previously arrested in Oban as part of the investigation have since been released pending further inquiries.

President Trump sparked concern internationally after saying he wanted to turn Gaza in a resort like the French Riviera – a proposal that would see Palestinians removed to other countries.

The president later posted an AI-generated video of what Gaza might look like under his proposals.

Last week Trump labelled the people who caused damaged at the resort “terrorists” and said they should be “treated harshly” by authorities.
