Teenanger killed in crash involving a tractor

A teenager has died after a single-vehicle crash involving a tractor in Carrigallen in County Leitrim.

The incident on the R204 occurred at about 15:10 local time on Tuesday, according to Gardaí (Irish police).

The male passenger of the tractor was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor, also a male aged in his late teens, was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road has been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident or anyone with dash-cam footage to contact them.
