The U.S. Department of Justice has fired Maurene Comey, the lead prosecutor in the trial of rapper Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs, who also served as prosecutor in Jeffrey Epstein’s case. The department did not provide a specific explanation for her dismissal, but the decision came about two weeks after the conclusion of Combs’ trial, in which he was not convicted of the serious charges against him. Additionally, the Justice Department recently acknowledged the existence of an investigation against Comey’s father, James, who was fired as FBI director by U.S. President Donald Trump in 2017.
