The military court sentenced a conscript soldier convicted in the abuse case at the “Hetz” unit, and as part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to 60 days of actual imprisonment, suspended sentence, and demotion to the rank of private, the IDF Spokesperson announced. This is the first settlement in the case that occurred last February, in which he, along with others, committed acts of abuse against several new soldiers who joined his unit. “The IDF views such incidents with utmost severity and will continue to act decisively to maintain the safety and welfare of all service members,” the statement said.
