Superhero Spider-Man will be web-slinging his way through Glasgow streets for longer than initially expected.
Location filming for the next film in the Marvel franchise has been extended until 26 August. It had been due to finish on 15 August.
Fans have already seen star Tom Holland on set, with footage on social media showing explosions on city streets that are doubling for New York.
The film is titled Brand New Day and is slated for release in the summer of 2026, with a sneak peek at Spider-Man’s costume recently revealed.
It will be Holland’s fourth outing as Peter Parker, with real life fiancée Zendaya tipped to return as love interest MJ.
On Sunday he greeted around 100 fans in Glasgow after filming a sequence for the film.
Joining the cast are Jon Bernthal as vigilante the Punisher and Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink as a new character, while the film’s title is taken from an infamously divisive story arc in the Marvel comics.

The blockbuster is the latest in a spate of films to use locations in Glasgow and throughout Scotland.
Twisters star Glen Powell has visited the city twice recently, filming a reboot of 80s action film The Running Man last year and a new thriller called The Ghostwriter earlier in 2025.
Superhero films The Flash and The Batman also filmed scenes in Glasgow, with the city doubling up for Gotham City.
Weeks of filming took place for DC Comics hero, Batgirl, only for the film to be scrapped at the last minute and never released.
Spider-Man star Holland was also in Scotland recently to film Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey at various locations around Inverness and Moray.
