Tennis champion Monica Seles reveals: ‘Battling rare autoimmune disease’


Monica Seles, 51, a tennis champion with nine Grand Slam titles and one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, revealed that she has been dealing with myasthenia gravis in recent years – a rare autoimmune disease that affects the nervous and muscular systems. Seles was diagnosed three years ago, after beginning to feel symptoms five years before that. The disease causes muscle weakness in limbs and double vision, among other symptoms.
