Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special advisor, Kirill Dmitriev, said after the White House summit between U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders that “it was an important day for diplomacy, focusing on lasting peace – not a temporary ceasefire.” Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said “Trump was the one who suggested Putin meet with Zelensky.”
