A month after three soldiers were arrested at an Air Force base in southern Israel on suspicion of serious offenses involving deliberate sabotage of several drones to the point of harming national security, the military court proceedings have concluded for two of the three suspects. One of those involved in the case exposed last month by ynet, a technician with the rank of sergeant, was sentenced in a plea deal to a minor misdemeanor offense of handling aircraft carelessly or contrary to instructions. He was sentenced to only 45 days in prison plus 45 days of military labor (a form of restriction), a fine of 1,000 shekels and demotion to the rank of private.
