Danny Elgart, whose brother Itzik was tortured to death in captivity, called on the public “to close their eyes for a moment and think about our hostages.” At a rally in Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, he said that “the Prime Minister said they are suffering but not dying. That’s a lie. My brother is the proof – he suffered and he died. Netanyahu is playing into Hamas’s hands with each passing day without stopping the war and returning the hostages. Hamas is gaining achievements in the international arena and Netanyahu is helping them achieve their goals. A diplomatic arrangement is not a defeat, it is the absolute victory.”
