Israel Police Southern District commander Chaim Bublil, who arrived at the scene, called it a “complex incident,” noting that “a major barrage was launched toward the district around 6 a.m. One missile made a direct hit on a residential building in Be’er Sheva, causing extensive damage. Additional buildings were damaged by the blast.”

Bublil said four bodies were recovered from the building and that over 20 people were injured, including two in moderate condition who were taken to Soroka Medical Center. Rescue teams were conducting a room-by-room search across three large residential buildings, which were evacuated.
“There are hundreds of civilians here. We’ve moved residents to resilience centers with the municipality’s help and are trying to provide them with immediate support until longer-term solutions are arranged,” he said. He also warned that IDF Home Front Command soldiers were inside the structure and there was concern it could collapse.
“We haven’t received any reports of missing persons but we want to be absolutely certain,” Bublil added. “The fatalities occurred due to a direct strike and unfortunately, even the fortified shelters suffered severe damage.”
The deadly strike was part of a broader Iranian missile barrage that triggered air raid sirens across southern, central and northern Israel. Initial reports indicated that two missiles were intercepted in the first wave. In a subsequent barrage, at least four missiles were launched, with one scoring a direct hit on the Be’er Sheva home.
Shortly after the Be’er Sheva strike, additional sirens were heard across central and southern Israel. Two missiles were reportedly intercepted. A fourth salvo, consisting of two missiles targeting central Israel, was also intercepted. A fifth attack triggered sirens in northern Israel—including Haifa, the Jezreel Valley, northern Sharon, the Carmel, Samaria, Wadi Ara and the Galilee—marking a new barrage launched after the declared start of the ceasefire. That strike involved a single missile, which was also intercepted.
Iranian state news agency Fars, which is affiliated with the regime, reported that the ceasefire began at 7:30 a.m. Tehran time (7:00 a.m. in Israel), following the latest missile strike that resulted in multiple casualties.
The renewed missile fire from Iran has raised serious questions about the ceasefire’s implementation and the stability of any pause in hostilities following nearly two weeks of war, further escalating tensions on what was expected to be the first day of a fragile truce.
