National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Education Minister Yoav Kish stated in a joint announcement that they oppose the budget proposal to be presented to the government today, demanding it include security for educational institutions for the upcoming school year. Kish said that “the security of Israeli students comes first. It is inconceivable that while humanitarian aid to Gaza is being expanded, students will be left without security.” Ben Gvir added: “While the Treasury wants to expand the budget for humanitarian aid, it harms the security of our children, this is a disgrace that cannot be accepted.” Kish repeated these statements at the conference of the Association of Education Directors in local authorities.
