Confrontation in discussion – Zamir warned: ‘Gaza occupation would endanger hostages’

During the security discussion on the possibility of occupying the Gaza Strip, confrontations were recorded between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, who warned that the move could endanger the hostages. Netanyahu replied: “We make the decisions. The approach we’ve tried so far has not succeeded in getting hostages out.” The Chief of Staff was outraged in the discussion about the late-night post by Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s son, who wrote referring to Zamir that “this is mutiny and an attempt at military coup and it’s absolutely criminal.” The Chief of Staff asked during the discussion: “Why are you briefing against me? Why is your son writing against me?” Netanyahu replied: “My son is 34, I’m not responsible for what he tweets.”
