Evanton: New social housing built

Highland Council has built 24 new homes for social rent in Evanton in Easter Ross.

The local authority said the project was a “milestone achievement” in efforts to tackle a shortage of affordable homes in the region.

Funded in part by a Scottish government grant, the development is a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Contractor Compass Construction has now built 1,000 new homes for the council.

Housing and property committee chairwoman Glynis Campbell-Sinclair said: “Highland Council will continue to work collaboratively alongside partners to build a portfolio of housing stock.”

“New housing can have a transformational impact for people and place, and I wish all the tenant every happiness in their new homes.”
