Extreme weather expected in various parts of Israel in the co


The heat wave that began over the weekend is expected to intensify mid-week, and on Tuesday and Wednesday, decades-old temperature records are forecast to be broken in inland and eastern areas, according to Meteorological Service Director Dr. Amir Givati. Temperatures in the eastern valleys and the Sea of Galilee area are expected to reach 48-49°C (118-120°F), while in the Jordan Valley, the forecast is for 50 to 51°C (122-124°F). In Jerusalem and Safed, temperatures are expected to exceed 40°C, reaching 41°C (106°F). The weather is also expected to bring tropical humidity, and from Monday to Wednesday, there is a chance of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the southern and central Negev, as well as strong wind gusts that could reach up to 100 km/h (62 mph).
