U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the American television network Real America’s Voice that he hopes Federal Reserve (central bank) Chairman Jerome Powell “will resign on his own.” The president noted earlier that if Powell does not resign, he does not intend to fire him, and now added that the reason is that “it would disrupt the markets.” Previously, Trump called the Federal Reserve chairman “terrible and awful.”
