Matityahu Korman, a young ultra-Orthodox man from Jerusalem traveling in Sri Lanka, was robbed, injured and forced to jump from a moving taxi. The taxi driver who was transporting him turned out to be a robber who attempted to kidnap him to a secluded location. When Korman realized this, he asked to exit the taxi, but the driver refused, forcing the young man to jump from the moving vehicle to save himself. The incident occurred near a military checkpoint, where soldiers came to his aid as soon as he escaped.
