The Texas legislature has given final approval to a new electoral map designed to help Republicans in next year’s midterm elections. The map was drawn to help Republicans maintain their narrow majority in the House of Representatives after the 2026 midterm elections. The redrawn Texas congressional districts map is expected to provide them with five additional seats in the House. Next, the map will go to President Trump’s ally, Governor Greg Abbott, who will likely sign it quickly.
