French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday condemned Russia’s latest missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and renewed calls for a ceasefire, as Ukraine marked a national day of mourning.
In a statement posted on X, Macron cited recent deadly attacks, including one in Kryvyi Rih on April 4, and overnight bombardments of residential areas in Kyiv and other cities.
“These Russian strikes must stop. A ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible,” Macron wrote. He accused Russia of ignoring peace offers from the United States and Ukraine and warned that stronger action may follow if Moscow continues to reject diplomatic efforts.
