Police were called to Boultham Park in Lincoln on Thursday evening

A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a baby was found injured in water at a park has been released on bail.

Lincolnshire Police officers were called to Boultham Park in Lincoln at about 21:20 BST on Thursday where they discovered the 15-month-old boy.

The child had minor injuries and was taken to hospital for further checks, the force said.

Police asked anyone driving along the St Catherine’s Road and Newark Road area between 20:00 and 21:30 BST on Thursday to check dashcam footage for anyone on a bike or walking a push chair.

The force also wants to hear from dog walkers who were in the area at those times, as well as anyone who may have heard dogs barking.

“Any detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial,” a police spokesperson added.
