The Israel Police announced on Sunday it had intercepted two smuggling attempts at the Allenby Bridge border crossing over the weekend, seizing unapproved medications and a rare biological agent.
In a joint operation with customs officials and military checkpoint personnel, police arrested two brothers suspected of smuggling 8,136 unregulated pharmaceutical capsules lacking the Health Ministry’s approval. Separately, a woman from Jenin was detained for allegedly smuggling 52 vials of botulinum toxin, a potent neurotoxin suspected of originating from Iran.
