The UN addressed Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s plan to expand construction in Ma’ale Adumim, which would effectively divide the West Bank in two and cut off continuity between Ramallah and Bethlehem, calling on Israel to stop it immediately. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated that “the plan would effectively put an end to the two-state solution. Settlements violate international law.”
