The report is based on statements by Hamzeh Safavi, a political commentator and son of General Yahya Safavi, a senior commander in the Revolutionary Guards and close military adviser to the Supreme Leader. According to him, security officials in Iran are “taking extreme protection protocols, including limiting contact with the outside world.”
