A U.S. federal appeals court ruled that President Donald Trump can continue enforcing his tariff program on countries worldwide, while the decision of the Court of International Trade from about two weeks ago is being reviewed – which determined that the president lacks legal authority to impose extensive global tariffs. The appeals court has not yet ruled whether tariffs imposed by Trump are permissible under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which the president cited to justify them, but determined they will remain in effect as long as appeals are still ongoing.
