US President Donald Trump told European leaders that he will not discuss the division of territories in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their planned meeting on Friday in Alaska. This was reported to NBC by two official European sources who were briefed on Trump’s conversation with his European counterparts. According to them, in a conversation that also included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump stated that he is going to the meeting with Putin with the aim of securing a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war. They also noted that Trump and the leaders agreed that a ceasefire must be implemented before peace negotiations can begin.
