The Degel HaTorah and Shas factions published a joint statement regarding the agreements on the draft exemption law crisis, stating: “After lengthy discussions with MK Yuli Edelstein, understandings were reached regarding the principles of the law preserving the status of yeshiva students. Since several more days are needed to complete the final text, and in accordance with the directive of the Council of Torah Sages of Degel HaTorah and the Council of Torah Scholars of Shas, it was decided to postpone the vote on dissolving the Knesset until next week to allow the coming week for completing the process and reaching the final text. Therefore, we are turning to the opposition with a request to postpone their bill to dissolve the Knesset until next week. If the proposal is not postponed – we will vote against dissolving the Knesset.”
