White House: If homeless don’t comply with Trump’s policy

After U.S. President Donald Trump recently promised to fight the homelessness crisis facing cities across the country, the White House announced that homeless people in Washington D.C. who refuse to cooperate with the president’s policy may be sent to prison. “Homeless individuals will be given the opportunity to leave their tent encampments, be taken to a homeless shelter, receive addiction or mental health services, and if they refuse – they will be subject to fines or imprisonment,” White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt told reporters. According to her, the U.S. Park Police has removed 70 homeless encampments in Washington since March and plans to clear the two remaining camps in the city later this week.
